Iranian warships dock in Syria; NATO monitoring situation

NATO said it was monitoring the two Iranian ships that traveled through the Suez Canal before sailing past Israel on their way to Syria on Wednesday, AFP reported.

A spokesperson for the military alliance seemed to play down its monitoring of the Islamic Republic's warships, however, saying that "we follow these two Iranian warships with as much interest as we do any other warship in the region," according to the report.

Meanwhile, Iran reported that its naval vessels had reached docked in a Syrian port where they were expected to participate in training exercises.
