Former Comptroller Lindenstrauss to lead NGO fighting corruption

Judge Micah Lindenstrauss, former state comptroller, was elected as chair of the non-profit organization Transparency International-TI Israel, which “promotes ethical norms and transparency in order to reduce corruption in Israeli society,” said a statement.

The statement said that Lindenstrauss would “focus on increasing integrity and transparency in local governments as an effective instrument of preventing corruption, including full disclosure of budgets and winners of tenders and contracts, and of conflicts of interest.”

While state comptroller, Lindenstrauss published several high-profile reports on the Carmel fire, the May 2010 Mavi Marmara flotilla, home-front readiness in the Second Lebanon War, and the Harpaz Affair.
