PM: Israel preparing for potential fall of Syria's Assad

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday reiterated that the government was following closely the "dramatic" events in Syria, and said that Israel currently is coordinating with the United States and the international community to prepare for possible action should the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad fall.
Netanyahu stressed that Assad's ouster could have serious implications for the region, including the potential for sensitive weapons systems to fall into the wrong hands.
The prime minister also addressed the deteriorating security situation in the West Bank, highlighting recent attacks by Palestinians on IDF forces in the area.
Netanyahu confirmed that later Sunday he would visit the OC Central Command for a briefing on the latest West Bank developments and to plan for every possible scenario.
