Israeli flag waved for the first time in Dubai pool

Israel's national swim team arrived in Dubai Tuesday for the opening of the World Swimming Championship being held December 15-19, Channel 5 Sports reported.

Immediately upon landing, the team was escorted by a large group of undercover police officers and the athletes' equipment was subject to the most thorough examinations at the airport.

As expected, the members of the swim team delegation were not given visas and they were allowed to enter Dubai without entry stamps on their passports. The delegation was also accommodated in a different hotel from the other countries' teams participating in the championship, and was reportedly under strict security around the clock.

On Tuesday afternoon, an Israeli flag was waved for the first time at a pool in Dubai.
