Palestinian girl injured running from stone throwing settlers

A six-year-old Palestinian girl fell and was lightly injured in the head on Thursday, as she ran with her mother to escape stones Jewish extremists threw at them, according to the IDF.

The Israeli non-governmental group B’Tselem said that the girl, Rasha Salama was one of three children walking home from school around 2 p.m. in the area of the Maon Farm outpost in the South Hebron Hills area of the West Bank.

Two settlers threw stones at the children from a yellow tractor as it drove by them, B’Tselem said. Rasha’s father was in the area herding a flock when he heard screams. He went to investigate and saw that it was his daughter who was injured, B’Tselem said.

Rasha was taken to a local Palestinian hospital where she received 6 stitches in her forehead, B’Tselem said. It added that this was just one of a number of incidents in recent weeks in which settlers threw stones at Palestinian school children in that area.
