Medical delegation to Japan set to return to Israel

The medical delegation to Japan is set to return to Israel Tuesday after finishing its aid work in the country following a devastating earthquake and tsunami that caused thousands of deaths and fears of a nuclear disaster, an official statement said Monday.

The Israeli team said it had completed its two-week mission in the city of Miniami-Sanariko. The delegation is expected to land Tuesday morning at the Nabatim military base.

It was decided in the IDF that most of the medical equipment the team brought to Japan, including an x-ray machine and a lab microscope, would stay with the medical personal located in Miniami-Sanariko to provide future medical assistance.
