Report: Militants pardoned weeks before their Sinai attack

Security sources in Egypt have revealed that at least four of those involved in an attack that left 16 Egyptian soldiers dead had been pardoned by Egyptian President Morsy 45 days ago, Maan News Agency reported Saturday.
The attackers, supporters of the radical group "Al-Jihadiyya," were said to have left directly to the Sinai following their release.
Along with other jihadi elements that they collaborated with in the Sinai peninsula, the four recipients of Morsy's presidential pardon took part in the attack on Egyptian forces, killing 16 and wounding 7 members of Egyptian security forces.
