About 8000 Christian friends of Israel from about 100 countries around the world, including the heads of Evangelical Christian communities, will participate in the Christian Feast of Tabernacle from 2 to 8 Octobe, the Tourism Ministry said in a statement Thursday. The festival, which this year carries the slogan "The Tabernacle of David", is sponsored by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem with assistance from the ministry. Thousands of pilgrims will arrive in Jerusalem for a week long program of seminars and teaching. Participants come from countries including Australia, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Austria, India, Italy, Nigeria and more. Large groups of pilgrims will arrive from Brazil (more than 1000), Finland and Norway. In addition to visiting sites around the country, the participants will join in the traditional and colorful Jerusalem March on 6 October. The Tourism Ministry, which provides assistance to the event, will operate an information booth at the International Convention Center near the entrance to Jerusalem, which will distribute information and flyers to pilgrims about the many tourist attractions in Israel and provide any assistance as required
