J'lem mayor fires Ramadan cannon at Sheikh Jarrah ceremony

Jerusalem mayor Nir Barkat fired the traditional Ramadan cannon on Wednesday evening in an old Muslim cemetery in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood along with Hajj Raj'ai Yehia Sanadouka to mark the end of the fast day for Ramadan.
The Yehia Sanadouka family has been responsible for firing the cannon twice a day, at sunrise and sunset, for more than 120 years, dating back to the Ottoman period.
