Mashaal, Abdullah to discuss Palestinian reconciliation

Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal was due to to meet with Jordanian King Abdullah in Amman on Monday. A source close to the king said that they plan to discuss Palestinian reconciliation, according to a report in The Jordan Times. This comes after a Hamas spokesman rejected on Saturday night the king's statement on Friday that Hamas was ready to negotiate with Israel.
Hamas leader Khaled Mashal will discuss with the king reconciliation efforts between his group and Fatah as well as “the Middle East peace process,” according to The Jordan Times. The Hamas media office said that Mashaal arrived late on Sunday in Amman as part of a three day visit.
The two also plan on discussing the Syrian crisis and the fate of thousands of Palestinian refugees from Syria.
The Hamas office was closed in 1999 and it is not expected that this will be brought up in the talks, according to the Times.
