Masorti Movement: Rabbinic judges involved in politics

The Masorti Movement in Israel sent State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss an urgent request that he look into the political involvement of rabbinic judges, including head of the rabbinic courts Chief Sephardi Rabbi Shlomo Amar.
In a letter from Wednesday, the leaders of the movement point out the recent statements of head of the Tel Aviv Rabbinic Court Rabbi Dov Domb, who recently implored land-lords to refrain from renting out apartments to foreign workers. Amar is also quoted in the letter stressing the importance of passing the so-called Conversion Bill promoted by MK David Rotem (Israel Beiteinu), and speaking against the High Court of Justice, which in its rulings supposedly harms the Torah.
Judges, and rabbinic judges, are not allowed to publicly express a political opinion.
