A man was injured during a violent car jacking in Ramle over the weekend, police
said Sunday. The incident occurred at 4 a.m. on Friday morning, when the driver
said he fell asleep in his vehicle while parked on a street corner in the
city.
According to the man's testimony, four to five suspects
surrounded the car, smashed the windows, and dragged him out of the vehicle. As
he struggled to break free of them, one of the suspects stabbed him in the back,
while another struck him in the face, police said.
The suspects left the
area in the stolen vehicle, which was later foundtorched in nearby
Lod.
The robbery victim was evacuated to the Kaplan Medical Center in
Rehovot in moderate condition. Police said an investigation is underway.
