A 37-year-old man was shot dead in a drive-by shooting in the Arab town of
Jaluliya in central Israel overnight Monday.
The murder victim, later
named as Hana Abd Al-Jasr, had been sitting on a sidewalk near his home, when a
car pulled up and a gunman opened fire, striking the man, police
said.
Jasr was taken to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba in critical
condition. Doctors battled to save his life, but had to pronounce him dead soon
afterward.
Police say the motive to the shooting has not yet been
established.
The gunshot victim had no criminal record, and there were no
known feuds with criminal organizations, according to the initial investigation.
