Future leaders of South American Jewry meet in Buenos Aires

The future leaders of Latin American Jewry met in Buenos Aires on Thursday for a conference to discuss issues affecting their communities and the region as whole.
Some 50 participants from 17 countries gathered in the Argentinean capital at the invitation of the ROI Community to network and develop innovative ideas together.
”We need a ‘Jewish Spring’ that transforms the Jewish world into a more inclusive and welcoming home for anyone who wants to be Jewish,” said Lynn Schusterman, who, in 2005, created ROI Community as a partnership with Taglit-Birthright Israel. 
“These young change agents are key to ensuring the vibrancy of Jewish life 3,000 years down the road.” Participants at the event included Uriel Aiskovich of Argentina, the founder of Shgriria ,an Israel advocacy group operating acorss the region; Samuel Dresel of Uruguay, who created a massive Holocaust memorial exhibit in his hometown Montevideo, and Maximiliano Grass, head of the Federation of Jewish Students in Chile, a country which has been roiled by student protests for months.
