Porush to quit Knesset as a part of rotation agreement

Deputy Education Minister Meir Porush intends to submit his resignation to Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin on Thursday, due to an agreement between the Lithuanian and hassidic parties that make up the United Torah Judaism faction.
Porush will be replaced in the Knesset by the next name on the UTJ list, former MK Yisrael Eichler, who is a member of the Belz hassidic sect. Current faction chairman Menachem Eliezer Moses intends to run against Eichler for the post of deputy education minister in a vote that will be held in the five-member faction.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu praised Porush at a going-away party held in his honor at the Knesset on Wednesday, saying that he proved himself as a man of action, combined with a generous and rich spirit.
