Republican strategist Arthur Finkelstein arrived in Israel from the United
States on Monday to advise Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Foreign
Minister Avigdor Liberman on Likud Beytenu’s campaign for the January 22
election.
Finkelstein, a mysterious figure rarely seen in public, is
expected to provide Netanyahu and Liberman new polls indicating that their party
would win more than 40 seats. His polls were seen as one of the reasons why
Likud and Yisrael Beytenu united. The first joint event of the two parties is
expected to be held next week in Jerusalem.
