Canadian Member of Parliament Irwin Cotler on Wednesday called on the international community to take legal measures against Iran for what he called "state-sanctioned incitement to genocide."
Delivering the keynote address to close the centenary year of
Wallenberg's birth in the Swedish Parliament, Cotler highlighted human
rights abuses around the world and asked, "Where are the Wallenbergs of
today."
Drawing parallels between the Nazi-Germany and Iran Cotler said "Iran has already committed the crime of incitement to genocide prohibited under the Genocide Convention."
"State Parties are obliged to undertake the legal measures to hold Iran accountable."
