Labor chairwoman Shelly Yacimovich on Sunday castigated the Likud party for it's harsh criticism of President Shimon Peres, who publicly critiqued Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu earlier in the day.

"The Likud's lashing out at the president of the country, one of the symbols of the state of Israel, is aggressive and contemptible," Yacimovich said.
"Saying Peres is encouraging the world's condemnation of Israel is despicable," she said, calling Peres the best ambassador Israel has and adding that his views represented Israel's consensus.
President Shimon Peres criticized Netanyahu for not finding a partner for peace in Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
