Dan David Prize Foundation names 2012 laureates

The international Dan David Prize, announced the names of 2012 laureates on Wednesday for prizes in outstanding achievement.
The Dan David Foundation will award the $1 million prizes at a ceremony at Tel Aviv University on June 10th.
The winners include British historian and Stanford University professor George Conquest and University of Oxford Professor Martin Gilbert, experts in Soviet and Jewish history respectively, who won in the Biography/History section, as well as South African artist William Kentridge who won for his artwork.
In addition, biologists David Botstein, Craig Venter, and Eric Lander won for their research of genomes.
