The courts announced on Tuesday that the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court approved a
settlement agreement between Hatnua MK Elazar Stern and journalist Emmanuel
Rosen in which both parties dismissed their dueling defamation claims against
each other. In the March 7 settlement, neither side admitted any wrongdoing and
each side will pay his own litigation costs.
In June 2008, Rozen fired
the opening shot, suing Stern following his remarks at a conference in Ramat
Gan. He made the remarks in his capacity as a major general and head of the
IDF’s Manpower Division.
In response to the suit, the civil division of
the Tel Aviv District Attorney’s office countersued Rozen for remarks he made
against Stern on his radio show.
