Israeli babies from Thai surrogates arrive in Israel

The first four Israeli families landed at Ben-Gurion International Airport early Friday morning with their babies born through Thai surrogate mothers, according to Ze'ev Yanai, manager of the campaign to bring these children to Israel.
The Foreign Ministry had previously denied citizenship rights to these infants, causing an uproar earlier this month. The Foreign Ministry had said that according to Thai law, the babies were Thai citizens and it would be illegal to take them out of the country.
Around 90% of the babies in question were to homosexual couples.
