ADL criticizes European flotilla measure as 'inexplicable'

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) declared Thursday that the resolution passed by the Parliamentary Assembly Council of Europe (PACE) urging an investigation into the flotilla incident yet declaring Israel’s actions illegal was “inexplicable.”

"It is inexplicable that the Parliamentary Assembly Council of Europe would call for an investigation of the flotilla incident while at the same time condemning Israel’s actions as illegal," said ADL National Director Abraham Foxman. He continued, "such a formulation would be laughable if it weren’t so horribly offensive. To ignore Israel’s announcement of an investigation and prejudge its outcome shows that PACE cares little about the actual facts."

Foxman went on to note that while PACE did demand that Hamas end its rocket fire against Israel and recognize the Jewish State's right to exist, it failed to mention the responsibility Hamas bears for the dire situation of the people of Gaza.
