Eli Yishai: Not enough gas masks to protect Israeli civilians in 2014

Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Subcommittee on Home Front Preparedness chairman Eli Yishai (Shas) said there will not be enough gas masks for civilian protection in case of a chemical weapons attack.
During a press briefing, Yishai told reporters that there are no funds set aside for home preparedness for the year 2014.
According to Yishai, the committee had warned the government about the lack of funds, but requests were ignored.
"I don't want to cause panic," Yishai added. "We have gone through a lot in Jewish history, and we have to be ready for any scenario."
He stressed that people should not panic, but also mentioned that the government ins't necessarily doing enough.
"Shana Tova, and I hope we won't need gas masks this year," Yishai concluded.
