Shark swims a few feet from bathers at Eilat shore

A unexpected visitor joined the beach-goers of Eilat's beautiful sunny beach Saturday afternoon. While locals and tourists went about their business, a shark swam relatively close to shore, and close to people in the water, however no one was injured.
The last time the Red Sea bathers were attacked by sharks occurred in winter 2010, when a tourist was eaten to death by a shark.
Unlike the Mediterranean Sea, sharks are not rare in the Red Sea. The relatively low temperature of the water provides many food options, and the Red Sea makes the ideal home for the highly feared water creature.
