Mayor to raise 3,000 Israeli, IDF flags throughout capital

In a show of solidarity for slain IDF soldiers and those fighting on the front lines in Operation Protective Edge, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on Wednesday ordered the municipality to raise 3,000 Israeli and IDF flags throughout the capital.

“This is the time to lift national morale and give the broadest possible support for army fighters fighting in the Gaza Strip,” Barkat said in a statement. “Jerusalem embraces the soldiers and the capital of Israel, and we are sending a strong message of support, encouragement and prayer to complete the mission and return all our troops home safely."
