Bolivia secures Iranian help to develop nuclear program

LA PAZ, Bolivia — Bolivian President Evo Morales says he has secured backing from Iran to help his South American nation develop a peaceful nuclear energy program.
Morales did not announce specific plans for a nuclear plant but said Friday that he wants to build one and export some of the electricity it generates.
The Bolivian leader recently returned from his second visit to Iran.
Morales' close ally, President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, earlier announced an agreement with Russia to help him build a nuclear power plant.
