Dafni Leef comes out in support of Histadrut demands

Social justice protest leader Dafni Leef came out in solidarity with Histadrut chairman Ofer Eini's declaration of a labor dispute over the issue of private contractors on Tuesday.
Leef said in a statement, "The Hundreds of thousands of contract workers that aren't unionized also deserve basic rights and dignity. The Israeli government, which is consistently ignoring the public's demands for social justice, is the largest employer of contract workers in the economy."
Eini made the announcement earlier, threatening a general strike if the Finance Ministry does not reach an agreement with the Histadrut that would see the number of contract workers employed by the state significantly reduced.
"Social Justice begins with basic rights that every worker deserves," Leef said, "particularly state workers that serve all of us and are payed out of our taxes. This is exactly where changes in work conditions need to begin."
