Turkish FM to Abbas: Ankara ready to help with unity gov't

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in a telephone conversation Friday that Ankara is prepared to assist in facilitating a Palestinian unity government, Israel Radio reported.
He also told Abbas that Turkey was prepared to help Palestinians in their efforts to secure membership as a stare in the United Nations.
Davutoglu's comments come as Palestinian leaders from Fatah and Hamas met in Cairo to discuss the formation of a unified Palestinian government, ending years of conflict between the two factions over governing the Palestinian people.
