Head of tourism union recommends operating Negev airport for international flights

The head of the Union of Travel Agencies, Yossi Fata'el, called on the minister of transportation, Israel Katz, to operate Ovda airport in the Negev while flights at Ben-Gurion Airport are halted.
He said that since B-G is the country's only international airport, its closure seriously hurts Israel's image to the world.
Ovda Airport is located in Beersheba, in southern Israel which has also been under heavy Gazan rocket fire in the past few weeks.
On Tuesday, a rocket hit a home near Ben Gurion airport, prompting a flight stoppages by American and European airlines, aside from El Al.
