Gaza-made film shows Israel’s destruction by Palestinians

Palestinian filmmaker calls ‘The Great Liberation’ "a gift to the people of Gaza," a response to Operation Cast Lead.

A new film produced in the Gaza Strip depicts the destruction of Israel at the hands of Palestinians.
Titled The Great Liberation, the film includes scenes that show Palestinians blowing up vital institutions, including the Bank of Israel, the Supreme Court and the recently renovated Hurva Synagogue in the Old City of Jerusalem.

One of the scenes documents the moment Tel Aviv is “liberated” by the Palestinians.
Palestinian flags are seen flying over many buildings as Palestinian cars drive through the city to celebrate the event.
Tel Aviv is referred to in the film by its Arabic name, Tal al-Rabi.
Mohammed al-Amriti, one of the producers of the new film, said he drew the idea from a dream he had a while ago.
He said that he and his colleague, Ayman Hijazi, recruited a number of actors from the Gaza Strip.
Amriti called the movie a “natural response” to a film that was recently produced by Israeli extremists about the destruction of the Aksa Mosque on the Temple Mount.
He added that the film, parts of which have been posted on YouTube, also came in response to Operation Cast Lead.
“This film is a gift to the people of the Gaza Strip and to Palestine,” he explained.
According to the filmmaker, the whole movie will be released for screening within a month.
