Chirac: Need 'coercion' for UN Mideast resolution

French President Jacques Chirac said Monday that "some means of coercion" may be needed to enforce a UN resolution that calls for the disarmament of militias. "The application of [Resolution] 1559 is the essential element, and this will probably require some means of coercion," Chirac said at the end of a Group of Eight summit.
