Iran's foreign minister met with his Bahraini counterpart here Saturday to diffuse tension caused by a recent editorial in a conservative Tehran newspaper arguing that Bahrain is part of Iran. The meeting came a day after over 100 demonstrators gathered outside the Iranian Embassy in Bahrain to protest the controversial assertion. Both officials stressed that relations between the two countries remained strong and would not be harmed by remarks that Iran has insisted do not represent official policy.
