A 21-year-old Israeli woman was killed Saturday in a bus accident in China. Dana Maor, whose family resides in Kiryat Ono, had been backpacking through the Far East with friends, and reached China after visiting Cambodia and Laos.

The fatal accident occurred Saturday when Maor’s bus overturned in the remote Yunnan province of China. Apparently, monsoon flooding caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. Maor was crushed under the bus, and efforts to rescue or resuscitate her were impeded by the heavy rainfall. She was eventually pronounced dead at the scene.
