A fire broke out Thursday at a nuclear plant that was damaged in a July earthquake in northwestern Japan, but no radioactive material was leaked, Kyodo News agency reported. The fire, which was extinguished by a plant worker, broke out from a power cable on the roof of a building at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa plant, the report said. There were no immediate reports of injuries, and the Kyodo report included no details of the damage to the plant.
