French President Nicolas Sarkozy insisted Wednesday that rioters who shot at police would be brought to justice and called the violence that has raged for three nights in a Paris suburb unacceptable.
"So that things are very clear: What has happened is absolutely unacceptable," Sarkozy, said after meeting with a wounded police captain hospitalized in Eaubonne north of Paris. He said those who shot at police "would be brought to account before justice."
