Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tzipi Livni met Sunday with Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdallah Gol. Gol declared that Israel must learn from the events of Lebanon, "It is proof that a peace cannot be make through one-sided actions, nor can it be made through use of force." The Turkish FM stressed the importance of giving back kidnapped and arrested individuals from both sides. He said that both Hizbullah and Hamas must return the kidnapped IDF soldiers and Israel should also free arrested Hamas members, women and children. Gol was pleased to be in Israel during this "critical time". He believed that there was a "new opportunity to achieve peace through the UN resolution." He added that Turkey would do everything in its power to promote a two-state-solution between Israel and the Palestinians.
