at the station’s entrance, and includes a 5k competition beginning at 8:45 p.m.

The route will take runners past the Old City walls, the Tower of David, Jaffa Gate, and through Mamilla Street, to King David Street, to Liberty Bell Park, and back to the train station.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, an avid runner who will participate in the race, described the event as unforgettable and breathtaking.

“Running at night in Jerusalem at the foot of the Old City’s walls, and in the Old City itself, provides a magical atmosphere in the city of Jerusalem and has become a tradition in the city that gives runners a breathtaking experience,” he said.

“This is an opportunity to be part of a community of thousands of runners and get to know the landscapes and sites of Jerusalem by foot.”

Participants in the night race will receive kits that include a running shirt, a number to affix to their chests and, win or lose, a medal at the end.

Barkat added that an expo at the station – featuring shopping, activities, and cafes – will be open to the public from 3 to 11 p.m.

For more information about the event, including temporary road closings and parking restrictions, residents and visitors can call the City Call Center at 106, or go to the website jerusalemnightrun.co.il.
