A 14-year-old boy was stabbed to death in Holon Wednesday night during what police believe was a fight with other youths his age.
The victim, Yosef Zohar, was stabbed in the neck and pronounced dead at the scene minutes later by Magen David Adom paramedics.
Early Thursday evening, Tel Aviv police said they had arrested a Holon man in his 20s suspected of being involved in the murder.”
Three teens aged 16-17 were arrested shortly afterward near the site of the stabbing, but were released after questioning and are not suspects, police said.
The stabbing took place next to a shopping center on Hatanaim Street in Holon around 10 p.m. Tel Aviv police said there were numerous surveillance cameras at the site and that footage from the time of the stabbing was taken by detectives.
The police said they have not yet been able to determine the motive of the stabbing, but it appears that it occurred during a fight between Zohar and other teens who fled the scene and have not been found. Police said Thursday they have not ruled out the possibility that adults were somehow involved.
