Representatives of higher education institutions were convening Saturday evening to meet with Education Minister Yuli Tamir and with officials from the Finance Ministry. Higher education professors wish to reform their wage agreement, which would include reimbursing some NIS 300 million which were taken from the university budgets by the government in the past years. However, the Union of University Heads said that the academic year will begin on time, Israel Radio reported. The union stressed that administrative units, libraries and minor faculty staff were not on strike.
