Yishai says US parent killer suspect to be extradited

Minister Eli Yishai on Friday instructed the Population Authority to
expel Eric Bellucci, the 30-year-old US resident who was arrested at Ben
Gurion Airport after he attempted to leave Israel following allegations
that he stabbed his parents to death, rather than waiting US
extradition order.
Yishai has the authority to issue an expulsion
order to all foreign citizens held in reasonable suspicion that they
committed a criminal offense their native country, even if a extradition
request has not been filed.

Consequently, Israel intends to begin deportation and extradition proceedings against Eric Bellucci.
Bellucci arrived in Tel Aviv on Thursday after taking an El Al flight from New York on Wednesday.
Police
spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the man was spotted as he tried to buy a
plane ticket to Beijing, China at Ben Gurion when a stewardesses who
thought he was acting suspicious called the police.
Rosenfeld
says the suspect was being held and questioned, and will remain in
custody while police coordinate his extradition to the US.
Although Bellucci is not Israeli or Jewish, he reportedly has a friend
in Tel Aviv to whom he was believed to be heading upon his arrival in
Israel, according to a New York Post report.
Bellucci's parents were found dead in the living room of their of their
home. According to reports he took their car and drove to the airport
where he boarded a plane to Israel.
