Averbukh takes European pole vault championship

Alex Averbukh, who made history for Israel when he won the pole vault at the European Athletics Championships four years ago, repeated his feat by clearing 5.70 meters in tough conditions on Sunday. His victory four years ago had made Averbukh the first Israeli to win a medal in athletics at any major meet.
