National Infrastructure Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer removed his candidacy for the presidency on Sunday night, in the wake of the recent investigations. Ben-Eliezer said the "institution of the presidency has become a bog," and therefore he has no desire to take part in the race for presidency. Ben-Eliezer had already acquired spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef's backing for the race.
