A new bill proposed on Monday would require prime ministers, other ministers, presidents and Knesset speakers to suspend themselves for three months if they are under criminal investigation. The bill, initiated by NU/NRP chairman Zevulun Orlev and former coalition head MK Avigdor Yitzhaki, would also require police to complete all investigative procedures within that time frame and decide by then whether to indict the official in question.
