Interior Minister Eli Yishai and Justice Minister Yaakov Neeman will be instructed to take the necessary measures for apartment owners to reinforce their buildings against missile attacks and earthquakes.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that home
front security was yet another example of "bureaucratic obstacles" faced
"Reinforcing homes is a cogent interest and in the current situation,
there is a tangible impediment to the ability to provide citizens with
better protection," he said. "Therefore, the Security Cabinet decision
must be implemented forthwith."
The meeting was held as two Kassam rockets exploded near the Gaza border
on Wednesday, though the attacks caused no casualties or damage.
One exploded in an open field near a kibbutz in the Eshkol region, and
another landed on the Palestinian side of the Gaza border fence.
