The chase was on for two suspected car thieves in the West Bank Wednesday morning, police said. Two men drove up to a police checkpoint at the Efrat junction and aroused the suspicions of those manning the post that the car was stolen. When the policeman approached, the car hit him and then raced off. A police car at the scene gave chase, after hitting the policeman as well. The two abandoned the car and were attempting to escape on foot. The police were in pursuit.
