For the first time in Knesset history, a citizen of an enemy state will testify before the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Thursday when US-based Syrian national Abe Suleiman addresses the body. Suleiman represented Syria in secret and unofficial talks on a peace agreement with an Israeli delegation led by former Foreign Ministry director-general Alon Liel, who will also address the committee. Since his arrival on Tuesday, Suleiman has toured Jerusalem and visited the Yad Vashem holocaust museum.
