The European Union says it welcomes Israel's unilateral cease-fire in the Gaza Strip and calls on Hamas to refrain from attacks. EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner says the cease-fire should allow for a resumption of humanitarian aid to the region. She says that Sunday's cease-fire ending 22 days of war against Hamas terrorists should be followed by "the withdrawal of all Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip." The Hamas terrorists have traumatized southern Israel with rocket attacks for years.
