Galilee: Gunfight erupts between police, suspects

A gunfight erupted early Saturday morning between police and suspected criminals near Mount Tavor in the Galilee. The skirmish began when two police officers who arrived in the area were shot at by suspects fleeing a building. Police officers returned fire. In the course of the shooting two of the suspects and one of the police officers were wounded. All three were taken to Haemek Hospital in Afula. Shortly after the incident, the commander of the police's Amakim subdistrict held an emergency situation assessment on the shooting incident at the Afula police station.
