The upcoming Gay Pride Parade will march from the Government Compound (the street linking the Knesset and the Prime Minister's Office), rather than central Jerusalem as originally planned, it was decided at a meeting on Monday. The meeting between police and the parade's organizers was called after Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz ruled that police could not cancel the parade. Police have claimed that holding the parade would engender violence and endanger human life.
