The Finance and Interior Ministry announced Monday that an additional NIS 8 million would be supplied to emergency services in cities and regional councils in the South, which are under daily attack from Hamas-fired rockets. The additional funds, which were decided upon following visits by Interior Minister Meir Sheetrit and Finance Minister Ronnie Bar On to the front lines, will go towards strengthening first responders such as the fire department and to providing essential equipment - mattresses, blankets and heaters - for municipal bomb shelters.
